Dr. Joana Casaca Lemos is a designer and researcher committed to delicate questions in the digital age. Her practice over the decade has focused on the intersection of technology, humans and environmental care. Runs an independent research consultancy that provides insight on people and places to support the design of products and services with integrity. Has collaborated with clients like Daimler AG, Sustainable Oceans Alliance, IDEO U, Business Council for Sustainability, Forum for the Future, among others. Completed a funded Doctoral Degree at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design London and since served as a non-traditional academic. Was founding faculty of CODE University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, visiting lecturer at Hyper Island, IDEO's design thinking school, NID India and ArtCenter California. Speaks and writes about the transformative role of designers in the world and is also a fellow of The Royal Society of Arts London.
