Is the World Wide Web about to be split? Imagined since its beginning as a global commons, discussions are now being raised regarding the Internet and net neutrality. Some political powers, such as the EU, have already blocked or filtered the free access to online content, and commercial interests are splintering the Internet into regional locked webs based on geographical location. As both censorship and online surveillance are growing, could the World Wide Web as we know it be threatened?
